Tecnica has a knack for making boots that fit many feet, and ski very well. Their liners are some of the nicest on the market, and their shells are easy on and off, even in stiffer boots. Tecnica boots are often pretty tricked (pimped) out. Look for adjustable flex, cuffs, and fancy buckles. Fortunately, most of these features work well, and allow you to really dial the boot fit and performance.
Last year Dragon replaced the Diablo, and features a more modern upright stance, and better transmission of power to the inside for stronger edge hold, and more responsiveness. The Dragon 110 is 100mm lasted, 110 flex and comes with a very nice thermo moldable Ultrafit liner. The Dragon 100 is a slightly stripped down and softer version that gives lots of bang for a bit less buck.
The Mega 8 is a 105 lasted boot with a lower cuff and a walk mode. It’s a good boot for the wide, high volume footed skier. It has a heat moldable Ultrafit liner with fur lining for extra cush.
The Attiva Dragon 100 is super tricked out. It has a velvet fur Ultrafit liner with Primaloft in the toe box for warmth, and lots of upper cuff adjustments to really dial the fit for a lady’s calf. The 100 uses a 98mm lady specific last.
The Attiva Agent 90 is based on the Dragon shell, but has a softer flex and a more relaxed fit, even with the same 98mm last.
The Attiva Pheonix 80 is based on a Dragon shell with a higher volume fit and softer flex. Its flex is adjustable with a switch from 80-70.
The new Attiva M8 is a high volume boot with plenty of calf room, and a ski walk mode. It’s 103mm last fur liner make this a cushy fit and a relaxed ride.
